What are the different types of ball mill feeders, and what are their respective applications?

There are three common types of feeders used in metal mine beneficiation plants: drum feeders, spiral feeders, and combined feeders.

**I. Drum Feeder:** Shaped as a round drum open at both ends, it contains a spiral feeding component that rotates synchronously with the ball mill, feeding the ore along the spiral path.

Applications: Conveying dry materials, mostly used in open-circuit ball mill grinding operations.

**II. Spiral Feeder (Spoon Feeder):** The overall structure is a spiral spoon, with a replaceable spoon tip at the spiral end. A central opening on the side connects to the hollow shaft of the mill, through which the ore enters. Available in single-spoon, double-spoon, and triple-spoon types.

Applications: Wet feeding, mostly used in closed-circuit grinding cycles consisting of a ball mill and a classifier, handling only the return sand from the classifier.

**III. Combined Feeder:** Composed of drum and spiral feeders, it can simultaneously convey dry ore and wet return sand.

Applications: 1. Single-stage closed-circuit grinding; 2. Facilitates the addition of steel balls to the mill; can also be used for two-stage grinding; wide range of applications.
